TIL-Career Exploration

                Today I learned and did research about different career options within the medical field. I looked into Physicians Assistants this is a job where the PA works with a physician and can do most of the things that they do like treating patients, preform minor medical procedures, and prescribe medication. They can meet with patients and work in a multitude of medical environments this degree doesn’t limit the PA to just one specialty or area of medicine it allows a lot of flexibility as to what and where you can work. This is one of the main things that I like about the PA, they can do almost everything the physician can without as much expensive schooling and can try out a lot of different specialties without being tied down to just one. To become a PA most people go to a 6 year school but there is also the option of getting a 4 year bachelor’s degree in biology or chemistry then transferring to a 2 year PA program. For a 2 year PA school on average tuition is about 45,000 for the two years depending on what program you enter. The average salary for a Physician’s Assistant is $97,280 per year and goes up depending on how many years of experience you have and what schooling you have had.
